The Magna Carta and the Constitution


A majority of the colonist did not want to have another King in the leadership of the United States, or a dictatorship.   It is article two that places a restriction on the president, and our government. This means that our President cannot declare war on his own power. One of the similarities of the Constitution compared to the Magna Carta and The Constitution is that of Article Two.   Article two   creates the ability for the Executive branch of our government, (Scaros, 2008).   Farther, finding that article two provides the president with a term of no more than four years for each term.   When the first acts of the presidency began, it was the individual with the most votes that became president.   Then the runner up would become the Vice President, even if they did not get along. This person who becomes President and Vice president had to be a natural born citizen of the United States of America.   The president, under Article Two, did not get a raise while in office. This was a set wage.
The president is capable of pardoning criminals, make treaties with other countries, and can pick judges. However, these choices must be approved by the Senate. This was ensuring that there was a restriction upon the government and the president.   In this case, not just one person rules, the majority rules. In Section 4 of article two, we find that there is an ability to remove the president such as impeachment, ( Scaros, 2008).
Compared to the Magna Carta which states, “Common pleas are not to follow our court, but are to be held in a certain fixed place.”   The similarity to our eight amendment is similar as there is a fixed place, but it is indeed called court.   The Eighth amendment, is one of grave importance in my opinion, as stated, “Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishment inflicted,” (Eighth Amendment of The Constitution).   This amendment allowed numerous individuals...
