I don't have to many magical childhood moments that are worth writing about but there are three that really stand out for me and when I think back to them still manage to bring a smile to my face. When I was 9 or 10 my whole family took a holiday to Italy. We stayed in a little village an hour away from the island of Capri. We stayed in a villa that had the most amazing views and the whole family would gather every evening to eat and watch the sun go down together. My cousins and I had so much fun staying in the same place together for 2 weeks we would have sleepovers every night and wake up early to play in the pool. The thing that really stood out most and was definitely the highlight of the entire holiday was the day that we all went to Capri. My dad and my uncles hired a boat for the day and took my cousins and I out in it for the whole day. After learning how to drive the boat we speeded out to see the famous Capri Faraglioni. I remember being amazed at the intense colours of the Mediterranean Sea. My cousins and I were fascinated with how the light and dark colours of the sea mingled together. I had never seen so many different colours of blue woven together. My favourite memory of that day was when my dad let me steer the boat but I ened up steering us in the opposite direction we needed to go. After we found our way my cousins and I were aloud to swim in the ocean. I still remember how warm the mediterraeann water was compared to the Irish Sea. I had so much fun diving into the water with my cousins and floating in the warmth of the ocean. My second favourite memory was every Sunday evening my whole family would gather at each others houses to have Sunday dinner. We would all take turns at having everyone over. We would gather around the table and talk about our week , telling funny stories or embarrassing stories. I always look forward to the Sunday dinners because I get to my see my family and always know that I will laugh no matter how bad my week was...
