Title: Luis Muñoz Marín the “Architect of the Commonwealth”

Introduction:
1. Introductory statement: Luis Muñoz Marín was the 1st governor of the commonwealth of Puerto Rico elected democratically, he was a poet, journalist, politician and statesman and was known as the “Architect of the Commonwealth”.
2. Thesis statement: Luis Muñoz Marín, the fist governor elected democratically by Puerto Rico, is an important figure in our history and one who helped achieve the country great things in a moment of great political and economic crisis.

Body:
1. First Supporting Idea: Luis Muñoz Marín helped create one of the most important political party’s of Puerto Rico, the Popular Democratic Party of Puerto Rico (PPD).
A. PPD committed to help the low class people
B. Marin was elected as the fourth president of the senate
C. PPD have the idea of a commonwealth with USA
2. Second Supporting Idea: Luis Muñoz Marín and the PPD made their idea of the commonwealth happen and many Puerto Ricans benefitted.
A. Puerto Ricans have more jobs options
B. United States Citizen Ship and Resident commissioner
C. Other benefits
3. Third Supporting idea: Luis Muñoz Marín accomplished other things for Puerto Rico like Operation Bootstrap and Operation Serenity.
A. Industrial Economy
B. Transformation of the agricultural society
C. Projects of Operation Serenity
Conclusion:
1. Closing Statement: We can say that Luis Muñoz Marin was if not the best, one of the best governor Puerto Rico ever had, he not only helped in the politic of Puerto Rico but in many other things and he gain the respect not only from people from Puerto Rico but from other country’s too.
2. Restate Thesis: Luis Munoz Marin the Architect of the commonwealth, lead Puerto Rico in a moment of great crisis and made himself a well respected governor with all the things he accomplished for our country.

    According to history.com, Puerto Rico was known as San Juan Bautista back then. Juan Ponce De León was given permission from Spain to explore the island of San Juan Bautista in 1508 to 1509.
