This novel is about a group of English boys that have gotten stranded on an island after a plane crash. In the beginning of this story these boys are described as being well-mannered and polite but since they have no rules to keep them civilized some of the boys start to turn savage. Ralph and Jack, the main characters of this book constantly argue about who should be leader and what is more important hunting or getting rescued.
