My long-run objective is to achieve the role of the head of the supply chain department of an international retail brand in India. It became apparent to me, in the course of my career that the future of the retail chains in India would be decided by their supply chains. With the Indian Government’s approval for international retail chains setting up stores in India, the area of supply chain management is destined to be a promising career option
Short term objective: To complete my preparation process, my short-run objective is to acquire world class academic education in supply chain management.
Purdue University:
I wish to say, sincerely, that in my opinion Purdue University will fulfil my first short-term objective optimally. The Krannert School of Management has the qualities that best fit my expectations, objective, and background. The more I hear and read about Krannert School of Management - the more I feel I belong there; it is considered one of the best schools in the world for developing general management skills and operations management. Graduates gain excellent placement services and leading positions. Purdue University has very few competitors in academic level and in world-wide fame. Coming from a multidisciplinary background which combines undergraduate studies of chemistry and botany, as well as retail management, sales, marketing and business development, I hope that Krannert’s multidisciplinary approach will enable me to better utilize my knowledge.
The supply chain and operations management group at the Krannert School of management has been consistently ranked high by the US news and world report. The group is also an active partner of the centre for global supply chain management (GSCMI) initiative, which cultivates outreach to industry and enhanced practise-based pedagogical and scholarly research.
