The corporate finance literature has traditionally focused on the study of long-term financial decisions, particularly investments, capital structure, dividends and company valuation decisions. However, observing the recent trends short-term assets and liabilities are equally important components of total assets and needs to be carefully analyzed. Decisions relating the short term assets management are referred to as working capital management. An optimal working capital management is expected to contribute positively to the creation of firm’s value.
