Thoreau has stated that he “wishes to live deliberatelyâ€Â. Although I had thought about what is my purpose of living, I didn’t get a consequence of how should I really achieve it. Since I was in middle school, I decided to study Mass communication in my future. I like media; I like the way people press news and make connections for all over the world. But after I read Thoreau’s opinions of our life, I just realized that I have to do something for my goal. To conceive what your life is going to be is an important element of living deliberately. I have to make plan about how do I achieve my goal; I have to pay more attention on the details of my life in order to achieve my goal. First of all, I need to finish my education. At least I need to get a diploma of communication in university. It’s the right direction that I need to find firstly for achieving my goal. In order to be competent for the job of communication, I should learn the skills of how to use those machines or programs, like editing pictures or movies. Moreover I have to know how to write good articles; I need to study all types of essays. For instance, I should know the proper form of an interview; I should know the differences between the essays and news articles. Needless to say, there are too many things that I need to learn for walking close to my goal. Secondly, I must enrich my personal experience or improve my self-culture. What communication means directly is to communicate with others or to make connections among people. One important skill of communicating well with others is to understand others’ mind. Only if I have abundant experiences, I can have more common senses and become more understandable. Also, should pay more attention on daily news; for example, to read newspaper and various books can help me with improving self-culture. I need to have knowledge about the changing society; I should be familiar with the needs of society. My self-culture and own experiences would help me to communicate to others easier. In addition, to experience more also could lead me to meet more kinds of people. In general, it’s very necessary for people, who work for media, to have good relationships among society. Therefore, for one day that I can work for world communication, I should try to live in different ways, taste diverse life styles, and deepen my self-culture.
