Literary Narrative

The process of communication is continuous, ongoing, and dynamic. Communication is not only the essence of being human, but also a vital property of life. Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind. They either have the power to build up or tear down. Communication plays a big role in society and there are many ways of expressing it. It ranges from telephones, talking, computers, televisions, newspapers, art, music, and books. Without communication to world would be lost. The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives. Currently I am employed as a cashier for Winn Dixie and have been there for about a year and three months. As being a cashier you have to talk to people and be able to understand people and make people understand you. Most importantly you must know how and be able to talk to your customer. You must try to be friendly as possible even when the customers sometimes are not. Communication is a plays a key role when it comes to customer service. Customer service is the provision of service to customers before, during, and after a purchase. I must greet my customer, ask them do they need any help and tell them to have a nice day. Good customer service determines whether the customer returns or shops at the store again and might recommend other customers to shop there. So communication is needed and is important in the workplace. Today I read this article discussing the importance of effective communication. It started off by saying that you probably learned this fact very early on in life. As a baby, you quickly discover that crying will bring your beloved mommy or daddy scurrying into your nursery to rock you, feed you or even change your diaper.
