2. The impression of Christ Pi gets from the priest is that he loves us all and that he is someone who can understand us and we can understand him. God sent his only son to atone for the sins of the whole world because he wanted everyone to be kind and forgiving he didn’t want anyone to be accused and punished for sinning.
3. Pi’s father said that ‘you only need to convert to three more religions and your whole year will be a holiday, this relates to the search for meaning and faith pi was going through because every religion have different holy days so if pi converted to 3 more religions his whole year would almost be a holiday. His father also says ‘how can he find his way if he never chooses a path’ meaning that he will be lost in the religious world if he chooses 3 religions instead he should only choose one so he can find his way.
4. The conversation between the writer and Pi means that you don’t know the strength of your faith until you doubt something and it is tested. The challenges you face when following a faith is that there is going to be doubt and a lot of it but doubt keeps faith a living thing and if the was no doubt than faith would no longer be needed in daily lives.
5. While pi was stranded at sea the presence of faith in god helped him survive. When pi was almost out of hope god delivered him a fish ‘thank you lord Vishnu, thank you for coming in a form of a fish and saving our lives’. When pi was close to dying god was still watching over him and when then time came he would give him rest.
6. Pi tells the writer two stories one which has god in it and one that doesn’t and asks ‘in both stories – ship sinks, family dies and I survive. So which story do you prefer?’ the writer replies ‘ the one with the tiger that’s the better story’. This statement applies that god is in everyone’s lives even the ones that don’t believe in god.

While he was in the lifeboat, he used praying for a couple of things. He used it to pass the time, but it also was used by him to keep his faith restored, and help him get through this really rough time in his life. He often prayed whenever something would go wrong, but at the same time he would just pray to pass some time, and talk to god.
