Life As An Illegal Immigrant
Life as an illegal immigrant may be one of the toughest things to undergo in today’s world. The majority of today’s society does not reflect on what undocumented individuals must go through on a daily basis. Apart from being separated or living far away from their families and loved ones, these people must experience discrimination, live with fear of being deported on any given day and abstain from companionship. Keeping all this in mind, it may bring up the question of “Do illegal immigrants have a better life in the United States than in their native countries?” The answer to that may be debatable, but to me, it would have to be yes because aside from all the heartaches that ascends from living the “American Dream”, individuals are able to both live and provide their family with a better life and achieve a better education.

Providing our family with improved living conditions has always been a priority in today’s world, but sadly in many of the countries individuals migrate from, that form of life cannot be given. When a person speaks of living a better life, they often think about materialistic things, but that is not necessarily the case for illegal individuals. For them it’s all about acquiring better job opportunities, a better education, better housing and keeping their family away and safe from cartel and/or gang violence. Yes, these may be things that every country offers or are things that can be avoided on one’s country, but the truth of the matter is, a life in their native country does not equally match up with that of the United States.

Attaining a good education is important in today’s society; nevertheless, there are those countries in which receiving a decent education is not as important as helping support the family or where money may be an issue when it comes to education.
