To whom this may concern:

Your name is a special young man. He has overcome many obstacles to become a person I greatly admire. **** is courteous, intelligent, dependable, diligent, a self- starter and a greatful young man. His accomplishments in the class roomhave greatly improved through his sophmore and senior year. His grades have risen to college potential, I hope he continues to climb to achieve his goals. His accomplishments on the football field excelled as well. His winning kick during the semi finals helped his Varsity team to go to the finals and then again to kick a crucial field goal to make Vista the 2001 D.I.V 1 Champions. His hard work ethic and determinationto achieve will aid **** in his educational goals of attending a four-year University, as well as his physical goals of playingfootball. He had proven to me that he has the potential to do whatever he may want to pursue in the future. He has developed into a mature young man who will perform to the best of his ability in any endeavor he wishes to take on.

Sincerly,

*****

Andrew White is a student who understands that the years spent in high school are what you make of them. Andrew has made the most of his high school career. Not one to be swayed by the masses, Andrew is an individual and is not afraid to think for himself. He is not one to make rash decisions, but thinks carefully about the decisions that he makes. He has a high level of maturity and has easily gained the respect of both peers and staff. I’ve persevered through many stages of my athletic career including being told by coaches at the age of 14, you will never be good enough to play varsity. I spent the next two years working passionately to be stronger, faster, smarter, and varsity quality. My hard work proved to be successful in baseball and the classroom. I was 2015 First Team All Orange County Player, All Sunset League Player two years, and CIF Champion. That hard work and dedication lead to multiple Division I offers. I choose Cal Poly because of the education, the baseball program, and the SLO community. I’ve been asked to share my story with little leaguers and high school athletes. Those opportunities to share with young students have offered me new prospective and understanding that I can achieve my career goals by obtaining a RPTA…

Eastview football is known for its outstanding sports programs, especially its football team. Unfortunately, that does not apply to my class. Our team had put in bone crushing hours in the weight room and on the field since June. There was no doubt in my mind that we wanted to win more than any other team. I wish this story ended with us getting countless wins and making it to state, however, Eastview football lost every single game that year. Even though we did not win a single game, I still refused to give up. I showed up to every single practice, eager to learn, and to make myself better. When I start something, I finish it no matter how hard or how painful it might be. I will bring that same intensity to UW-Eau Claire. There will be countless setbacks in my college career at UW-Eau Claire, but I am going to get through each and every one. My persistence and tenacity will make me thrive in your college, because I will not take the easy way around. I will take each and every painstaking step to see the view from the…

To the game that changed my life, thank you. I remember the day that you found me, in a store full of strings and cleats. You helped me pick out a gray and pink stick with pink goggles and a mouth guard. On that day in 2008 you strengthened me in one of the hardest times of my life, when my Dad was on the other side of the world fighting for our country. You have strengthened me multiple times since. You have continued to be the single most consistent aspect of my life my life. You have stood as my outlet, my friend, and my teacher. You have taught me, provided for me, and given me the most memorable of memories. Thank you for empowering me in torn up cleats and dirty uniforms. I don’t think I will ever be able to repay you.…

I stood up and cheered as the announcer announced my son’s name over the loudspeakers. I knew nothing about football, but I did know that a touchdown was an accomplishment. This was Ty’s first game on varsity. He had worked so hard for that spot on the team, he deserved it, and now it was paying off. I pulled out my phone and saw the three texts left by my husband. I slide and replied. He wasn’t going to be here, he was not supportive of Ty’s football career, citing brain damage as a good reason not to trifle with the sport. I agreed, with determination he worked towards it.…
