LETTER OF MOTIVATION
I have acquired prior knowledge on law which governs the various forms of ownership in real property and personal property. I have been performing estate management duties for fifteen years, since I graduated with a Diploma in Estate Management. In my desire to advance my academic potential, I have also completed a BSc (Hons) Degree in Land Economy. In my years as a Land Economist I have offered advice for acquisition of bare land, development of land, sale, renting of buildings and supervised purchase of varied equipments, goods and other facilities to be used in offices, bungalows, guest houses and conference centres My interest in Intellectual Property law is first of all to further enhance me academically and also expose me to new and modern trends in the field of business when it comes to acquisition of abstract properties. The combination of my first and second degree programmes will help me to contribute to property related issues in my country. It will also help me practice a wide variety of intellectual property law in several technical fields. High technological industries are springing up in Ghana. Currently new mobile telecommunication companies like Zain and Glo are coming into the country. Many more industries are coming up. As a good facilities manager there is the need to improve my negotiation skills and learn the right questions to ask to protect my company. Negotiation from the vendor’s and the facilities manager’s point of view is necessary and I see the course as having the components to put me in this august position. An awareness of rights campaign is being launched because knowledge on ownership rights and laws related to property has been a challenge in the West African Region in general and Ghana in particular.
