RE: Kennel Assistant position
Dear Ms. Jackson,
I am interested in the position of Kennel Assistant at your clinic that I saw posted in the classified ads of the Tulsa World. I graduated, with honors, in May of 2013 with my bachelor’s degree in Biology, as a pre-vet major. I will be applying to Oklahoma State University Veterinary Medicine program in the fall of 2013. With my pre-requisites completed, I am anxious to gain additional experience in a veterinary practice.
I worked for Dr. John Doe, DVM for the summer of 2012. The patients in his clinic included both small and large animals. The knowledge I gained there was very valuable. My job duties included caring for the animals in the kennel, assisting in surgeries, administering medications, and maintaining patient records. This experience confirmed for me that this is the career path I wish to pursue. I am looking forward to gaining additional experience in a new setting. I will be available to work through the fall of 2014 when I will hopefully begin classes in the Veterinary Medicine program.
I am a hard worker and I get along well with people and animals. I am compassionate and take pride in providing quality care. I am able to work independently and appreciate the importance of competing tasks in a timely manner. These personal traits, along with my experience, education, and motivation to excel will allow me to be an asset to your clinic.
I am looking forward to meeting with you to further discuss this possibility. Please contact me at the phone number or email listed above.
