At the end of this lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Describe set and the basic terms related to set;
2. Identify and apply the basic set notations;
3. List the subsets of a set;
4. Perform operations on set; and
5. Use Venn diagram to show relationships.

Topic: Basic Ideas of Set
Material: examples of sets: set of books, set of
Vocabulary; set, subset, union, intersection, complement, equal sets, equivalent sets, Venn diagram
Time Frame: 3 days

IV. Teaching Strategies
A. Connecting to Prior Knowledge
Ask the students to answer Exploration.
B. Developing Skills
1. Discuss set in Extension.
2. Generalization: Have the students answer Vocabulary and Concepts. Then have them work in pairs and answer the Writing exercises.
