 Lecture is an oral presentation intended to present information or teach people about a particular subject, for example by a university or collegeteacher. Lectures are used to convey critical information, history, background, theories and equations. A politician's speech, a minister's sermon, or even a businessman's sales presentation may be similar in form to a lecture. Usually the lecturer will stand at the front of the room and recite information relevant to the lecture's content. Method is refers to the teacher’s systematically procedures of getting the lesson across to the child. LECTURE METHOD

The lecture is still the most frequently used method of instruction.  However, presenting a lecture without pausing for interaction with trainees can be ineffective regardless of your skill as a speaker. The use of pauses during the lecture for direct oral questioning creates interaction between instruction and trainee. .All methods of instruction can be classified as telling, lecturing, or discussing; showing ordemonstrating; or any combination of these. Often the best method of teaching combines thevarious methods. You must decide which methodsto combine and the emphasis to place on eachunless the curriculum itself dictates the com-bination needed. In making that decision, consider(1) the nature of the trainees, (2) the subjectmatter, and (3) the limitations of time.

Preparation of the lecture- is the same how to prepare the lesson plan. The lecture, like the lesson plan, is ancipatory teaching. The lecturer must the objectives of education and the objectives of the lecture clearly in mind. If the exposition is to be used to clarify issues, the outline should stand out and may even be distributed to the class.
