The Respiratory System is one of the most important systems in the body. The Respiratory System has many different parts and functions, but there are also many different diseases that affect the Respiratory System. There are traditional treatments that can help out the many different diseases. There are also new treatments that they are coming up with every day to help fight the different diseases that have to do with the Respiratory System, will also talk about why this system is most important to the body.
The Respiratory System consists of many important parts, but the main parts are nose and nasal cavity, mouth and pharynx, larynx and trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli, and the lungs. The nose is the uppermost part of the respiratory tract; the nose is made up of two bones and cartilage, the function of the nose is to filter, warm and moisten before it moves onto the rest of the respiratory tract, the tiny hair follicles trap dust and other bacteria which also make you sneeze to get rid of germs trapped in the nose. The mouth and pharynx is the opening in which where the food tube and the air tube meet, their function are for eating and help to control breathing. Larynx and trachea the function of the larynx is to prevent chocking, the trachea or windpipe just below the larynx and ends behind the upper part of the breast bone where it is divide into tubes, the trachea is made up of elastic tissue and smooth muscle, which also help you breath. Bronchi, bronchioles, and alveoli the bronchi and bronchioles form the air passage into the lungs. The exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide take place in the alveoli, the alveoli increase the surface area of the lungs and allow blood vessels to collect oxygen. The lungs lie in the chest and are surrounded by rib cage, the function of the lungs is to supply the body with oxygen and remove carbon dioxide from the blood.
