male and female friend

There are many differences between a female friend and a male friend. Firstly, im going to mention the female friends, they are great to have especially when you are a girl. You can go shoping or learn cooking... with them. They understand you more than male friends but sometimes you cant trust them because its a proven fact that girl’s cant keep your secret a long time. About male friends they are good to have because sometimes you just need to get away from your female friends. If you like doing sports, you can call them everytime. Male friends alway help you to understand them and they can keep your secret. Female friends or male friends, you can all hang out together when you just want to have fun and you can see that is really good to have both female and male friends.

Talking to mom/ friends

I can feel the deference when I’m talking to my mom and when I’m talking to my friends. Firstly, when I talk to my friends I can talk about any secret I want but to my mom have a limit I can go to.I can mention the famous slang which was created by friend’s groups for understanding each other but my mom cant understand them. And then if I see my best friends or close friends, I get so happy but when I see my mom I doze off. I don’t get what the difference is between my mom and my friend. I mean, I see both of them every day but why don’t I get excited when I’m with my mom? I talk to my friends the whole day and I talk to my mom just for half a day. I listen to what my friend says. Everything I hear from them are awesome but i get real bored when I talk to my mom for a while. And I would need them in different situations. My parents are there for to take care of me, and love me. My friends are there for sharing secrets with me.

However, this gets worse when you’re learning English as a second language. This is because the second language English learners fears of getting bully. When it was time to choose the video that “related to me the most” I become clueless. Looking around the English classroom, I was hoping to find a few other confused and distracted faces, but instead, when the teacher asked the class if we had some good ideas, everyone was obediently nodding. All I could think about was how well these videos were directed and how clever they were. Then I was left thinking, am I that uncreative and unoriginal? Surely it couldn’t be that hard to string 500 words together on my thoughts about a one minute video I watched – but it was.…

While completing our service learning with the Master of Science in English Education program by meeting with our conversation partners throughout the semester we have each come across some difficulties our partners face. It is often difficult for them to pronounce certain words and syllables, using pronouns correctly, understanding our "slang" and social norms, learning to speak less formally, writing (sentence structure), and English words not having a similar meaning in Chinese. Often when meeting with our partners they use a translator on their cell phones to be able to find the English or Chinese word they are having difficulty thinking of or coming up with. Aside from all the difficulties, we have learned a lot from our conversation…

Jimmy Carter once said, “We become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic. Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams.” What he meant by that was America is a very diverse country. Without the difference of its people, America is not America. In the novel, The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henriquez, the story centers around the Rivera family adjusting in the United States. Also, it focuses the life story of the people around them while in the short story, “The English Lesson” by Nicholasa Mohr, it focuses on how immigrants see the United States. Another important aspect to consider is the places to go out. I think I have more options with female friends than with male friends. With female friends you can go shopping, since girls can shop forever with no problem. Also girls can go to clubs together and get discounts on drinks, just because they are women. A male friend doesn’t like to shop as much as females. One advantage is you can go to clubs with men and never feel alone, because he is always going to be taking care of you.…

Females have more trust in each other. When females hang out they talk about their emotions causing them to feel closer. We talk about anything from boyfriends, to family, to school. Females also tell each other that they love the other. We have more physical contact by hugging, or kissing on the cheek. We also need emotional support from a friend, they don’t have to do anything just be there for each other. They would tell the other what they would do in that situation, or what they should do. We also hang out a lot, by going out to eat, shopping, or to the movies.…
