LEADERSHIP

The activity of leading a group of people or an

organization or the ability to do this.

Leadership involves

(1) establishing a clear vision,

(2) sharing that vision with others so that they will

follow willingly,

(3) providing the information, knowledge and methods

to realize that vision, and

(4) coordinating and balancing the conflicting interests

of all members and stakeholders.

Leadership is "organizing a group of people to achieve

a common goal".

ROLE OF LEADERSHIP IN TECHNOLOGY

GENERATION

Technology is now an integral part of learning and the

ability to learn and use technology is quickly becoming

a skill required of all students to ensure their success

in the workforce.

Technology itself may not provide the solution; rather,

the answer may lie in the organizational context in

which the

technology is deployed.

Technology is the advancement and use of electronic devices and other high-tech equipment to produce and progress knowledge into the future. Advancements in technology have affected management leadership in many ways over the last sixty years. New technology has altered leaders' consciousness, language, and the way they view their organization. Technological advancements have made things easier for those in management leadership roles. But as with anything, there are positive and negative aspects of technology on leadership. Some of the positive aspects of technology are: the availability and use of wireless networking, collaboration tools, digital video, handheld devices, and videoconferencing. On the other hand, the negative aspects of technology are: it offers less privacy, it allows for less interaction with others, and it runs a high risk of contact with viruses.

On the more positive side, wireless networking allows leaders to share resources with their team operating by means of wireless media, such as microwaves, cellular technology, and radio frequencies. Wireless networking is paving the way for technology integration around the world. The use of collaboration tools allows ongoing conversations among leaders, their subordinates, board members, and community members. Professional development is one area where collaboration can have an enormous impact on management leadership. When leaders can casually share new approaches and practices with each other through a technology connection to their workplace, both leaders and their team will benefit. One way of doing this is to create an Internet mailing list where they can share question.

ROLE OF LEADERSHIP IN INNOVATION GENERATION

Innovation Leadership involves adopting certain styles of leadership in organizations to influence employees to produce innovative ideas, products and solutions.

The key role in the practice of innovation leadership is the innovation leader.[1] Gliddon (2006) developed the competency model of innovation leaders and established the concept of innovation leadership at Penn State University.

As an approach to organization development, innovation leadership can be used to support the achievement of the mission or vision of an organization or group. In a world that is ever changing with new technologies and processes, it is becoming necessary for organizations to think innovatively in order to ensure their continued success and stay competitive.[2][3][4][5][6] In order to adapt to new changes, “the need for innovation in organizations has resulted in a new focus on the role of leaders in shaping the nature and success of creative efforts.[7]” Without innovation leadership, organizations are likely to struggle.[3] This new call for innovation represents the shift from the 20th century, traditional view of organizational practices, which discouraged employee innovative behaviors, to the 21st century view of valuing...
