Review the team’s overall performance

Our team was very effective because we had good listeners, people within the group would listen to small ideas and elaborate on it as a group, for example Fauzyia said we should try finish before the allocated time so we get enough time to prepare the egg for the challenge, we did do that and Khaver added to it by saying we should dropped it from estimated 3 feet to know whether the egg will deviate in the air and land on the right side. This made our group more successful as it helped us in the challenge because we had a rough idea about how the egg will land on the ground. This enabled us to prepare the egg better and make the landing side of the egg much stronger in order to prevent the egg from cracking. As a result of good listeners we were successful because the egg failed to crack when it hit the ground from 8 feet.

We also had people that constantly asked questions to the group leader. For example I wasn’t sure about how long we should have for the plan so I asked Khaver for suggestion and he positively told me to allocate as much time as you think will be enough. This made the group more effective because we were all aware of each other’s ability and asking questions only made our time more knowledgeable about the challenge. We also asked questions on who the team leader should be rather than choosing a group leader just because he looks like a leader or acts like a leader, we actually done a vote to decide the group leader. This resulted in an effective team because we all felt that the person leading

Effective team are important, and their functions crucial to their success. I have found that clear goals, relaxed environment, open communication, and freedom to express ideas and feelings are great ways to ensure success. In the video “Helping Annie”, the dynamics of the team were lost due to lack of information, who was right and who could be trustworthy. When team members meet, they should feel as though they blend in with the group. They should feel a commitment to the goals and achievements to the group. What I know about groups are, that having valued diversity, defined roles, balanced participation, and cooperative relationships help with moving the group to a positive outcome. As a participative leader, as it is said in our eBook Working In Groups, “there is a balance of primary roles and when team members know their roles, work to their strengths, and actively manage weaknesses.” (Engleberg, 2013, p. 55).…

As I was the team leader only for temporarily, I had to make sure everyone in the group was communicating well and listening to each other’s ideas and opinions. When I asked the group how well they thought we communicated Rashan, Jasmine, Chenice, Chloe and Mako that everyone in the group had to contribute to ideas and listen to each other effectively told I, however Rashan thought there could have been improvements and more ideas shared. we have studied the impacts on behavior when working within a group, and if leadership roles are connected when working in these conditions. We have been able to prove that working in groups does impact on the behavior of individuals. We establish that when working in a group and playing out an assignment, three initiative parts may happen, aggressive, assertive and non-assertive, these roles may cause behavioral changes or modify the opinions of people working in these groups. As my first GOLD workshop, I not only learned important aspects of the program but also focused on various leadership concepts and what qualities we associate with leaders. We were asked to identify a leader in our lives and the characteristics they display and after comparing them to others, I found that we all associate similar qualities in those we view as leaders—from thoughtful and understanding to confident and a good listener, our ideas of a leader were mutual. We also went over a worksheet titled “Thoughts on Leadership,” which was extremely helpful. I learned to not only open my mind to the ideas of others but to also identify with what I believe a true leader is. Reading over the different myths about leadership allowed me to truly understand the moral concepts of leadership and how to recognize the difference between good and bad leadership.…
