            Running Head:   What type of leader are you?

      The type of leader I believe I will be is one that is honest, allows the team to voice concerns or opinions, and always keep an open door policy for my team to talk openly with me about anything.   I believe having an opened mind as a leader, would be beneficial for my team to be upfront with me and allow their creativity to shine through.   A good leader should be able to provide all of these things to ensure that the team remains upbeat, no one feels left out of any team functions, and they are willing to go above and beyond for you and the team.
      The type of leadership style I believe I would possess is the participating style.   Participating style leadership is defined as the leader encourages the followers to share ideas and facilitates the work by being and encouraging, and helpful to the subordinates (pg. 306).   The reason I chose this style of leadership is because I would love for my team to have a say in what it is we share as a team to get the job done in a timely manner and that would be suitable for the company.   I think I would be the type of leader that would be fair, able to settle disputes amongst the team members, and take suggestions that would be beneficial to the team and possibly the company.

      I believe my leadership style can support my team because I would consult with my team to get their input before coming to any decision that could lower morale on the team, and I believe I could influence my team to want to do better and advance within the company.   I think being a good leader you encourage your team to want to develop and become more knowledgeable of the products and services the company provides, helping them to move onto more endeavors within the organization and always having the respect of your team as they advance their...
