Examples of leadership are all around us. Sports coaches, teachers, students and parents, etc. They are everywhere and you don't have to have to be an adult to be a leader.   A leader is someone who takes initiative and sets examples. For example, a leader that I look up to is my AP Pyschology teacher Coach Davis. He genuinely cares for everybody, helps out whenever he can.   He thinks ahead of the ball game, leaves his attitude at the door and makes you want to become a better person.    

                Leadership is the ability to be part of a group and you all work toward a common goal. Leaders must have initiative and a drive. A drive for success and a drive to be the best . Also,a when doing something to assess all the possible outcomes and to strive to make sure the bad outcomes don’t happen.   You must be able to communicate and have an open ear and an open mind. What I mean by this is, you can’t just hear someone’s suggestion or their criticism. You must listen and assess what they are talking about. You can’t be a push over and just let your own beliefs fly out the window. You have to have a strong stand in your beliefs but not be stubborn about it. Taking others ideas into consideration while standing within your own is also a trait that is helpful.   You also need to acquire adaptability as a trait. Things change within a split of a second and you have to change with them. I believe a true leader is someone who motivates others to be a leader. Being an excellent leader is someone who is excellent at being a follower. A leadership corp is full of different officers. As a leader myself, I must recognize that there are people in a higher ranking than me and I must follow them.  
                As a child, you watch people much bigger than you on television and watch them do the “coolest” things in the world. You see people like celebrities and athletes and musicians and you say to yourself, “Man, I wanna be just like them “. But later on, you learn,... [continues]
