Law Is a Necessary Evil

A law is “a rule of conduct or procedure established by the Custom, Agreement or Authority” by which a society is governed. Law is different from the other type of rules which govern certain types of behavior. Rules in regards to the Sports or other Games could not be treated as Law. This is principally because not everyone is governed by the Rules of the Sports, only those who participate in the Sports are governed by such Rules. The existence Law in a society means that people in the society will be governed by the Law and not by the whims and fancies of the Rulers.

Laws have been necessary throughout the history of human life in order to maintain peace and harmony in the society. Laws are the oil in the wheel that keeps society running fairly smoothly. Laws are important in a society as a means to keep people in a somewhat semi-controlled environment, to keep things uniform in a huge society. Ultimately, it will never happen this way, but if everyone were following all the laws at all times, then everyone is being safe and controlled.

Laws are very important to society to ensure the safety of our families and our way of life. Laws give us rules to follow so we live with structure and without chaos. If we didn't have laws to tell us what we aren't allowed to do, people would do whatever they want and there would be no proper consequences. Without laws, there is no punishment for bad behavior and so no deterrent for people to stop those committing crimes.

Law can be said to perform four different functions, each of which is of every very importance to our welfare. These are could be treated as goodness of law:

The primary important function of law is to defend us from evil, that is, those who would seek to harm us for no good reason. It does not mean that the law is only concerned with bringing evil people to account for their actions.
