Personal Perspective Paper
There are many factors that make up my health. Some factors can either be negative or positive. These factors are biological, social, behavioral, political and environmental. These ecological factors are in my opinion what shape our health. All of these factors affect my life on an almost daily basis and are very important to keep in mind. Everyone has the ability to be healthy, some people just have to work a little harder than others have to do. I think that biological factors are among the most important factors related to my health. Diet is an important factor, I always try to eat healthy when I can but it is a lot more convenient just to go in the drive through at McDonalds. Physical activity is another factor, I always try to keep an active lifestyle, and I go to the gym to weight train and run around five days a week. As far as illness and injury go as factors, I recently had surgery to repair a torn ligament in my wrist, but besides that I like to think that I am healthy overall with no serious illness. Sanitation is a big factor, I like to consider myself a clean person, and so that lowers my chance of getting sick from germs and bacteria. There are many social factors that can influence a person health. For example if you have bad living conditions you are more susceptible to illness which can affect your health greatly. I’m a clean person but sometimes you can’t be so fortunate about the people who are around you and that can lead to me getting sick. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) “distribution of money, power and resources at global, national and local levels…” can be a big social factor related to health. The money factor has many pros and cons when it comes to health, because if you don’t have enough of it you cannot afford proper care. Personally I would say that I am socially healthy for a person my age. I’m able to afford all of the necessity’s to keep me in good shape....
