As mentioned earlier in Part I of this proposal, Smith Consulting has been contracted by Kudler Fine Foods to develop and implement a Frequent Shopper Program. The ultimate goal of this program is to keep current customers loyal and to illustrate to new customers ingenious ways in which Kudler intends to keep a good client-customer relationship. As a secondary measure, the Frequent Shopper Program is intended to track customer behavior and habits. Smith Consulting will now define how the following items will be influenced during this project. * Hardware platform

* Network Connections
* Software Development Tools
* Database Information
* User Interfaces
* Controls
* Security

Hardware Platform:
Kudler has three main locations La Jolla, Del Mar and Encinitas, and with proper planning and development, it is hoped that they can expand throughout the course of the company. In the mean time and for the purposes of this project we will concentrate on these main sites. Each site will have the exact same hardware platform and Smith Consulting will upgrade this hardware during the course of this project. The hardware in place right now is a bit outdated and will only slow down Kudler Fine Foods in this fast paced technological savvy world. The hardware in place now is illustrated below in Fig. 1.

The server will be upgraded to blade servers for faster more proficient transactions. The 56K modem will also be upgraded to Broadband, preferably a T1 line or fiber with network speeds that can reach ITB/sec download speed. Additionally the current Point Of Sale System can be easily upgraded to accommodate the tracking and favorites of individual consumers with the use of an upgraded barcode system which will be implemented at the first sprint of the project.
