Abstract

      This paper will review the Kudler Fine Foods problem statement. There are many main issues that are a risk to the business and will be outlined in this paper. Therefore understanding these risks will allow adequate time and efforts for resolving these issues and being able to achieve the organization’s goals and vision. The goal is to be able to see the problems that are in the way of making this the finest specialty food store in San Diego County.    
Kudler Fine Foods Problem Statement
      In San Diego County Mrs. Kathy Kudler established one of her stores as a specialty food store in La Jolla, California called Kudler Fine Foods (KKF) and then it quickly became a success. This soon helped Kudler opened additional stores in Del Mar in 2000 followed by Encinitas in 2003.  Kathy has a passion for gourmet foods and this is proven successful as the profits have generated enough cash flow for her to open the additional stores in Del Mar and Encinitas. One of her goals for the company is to be able to expand into other geographical areas in Southern California and even possibility the San Francisco area.
      Therefore, owning a business it has some highs and lows of business, for KFF there are a couple of things that can help with making the business more of a success. Knowing the process of identifying KFF’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunity and threats (SWOT) can unveil many issues for the company.   One being the competition from another gourmet shop opening and dealing with perishable goods, the issue of perishable goods can lead in to wasting valuable inventory, this causes inventory to either be thrown away or donated.
