After getting frustrated having to travel all over town just to get the ingredients needed for a simple gourmet meal, Kathy Kudler decided to open a gourmet food shop. Kathy’s dream was to open a gourmet food store that stocked a wide variety of fresh ingredients and the necessary utensils needed by a gourmet cook. Kathy knew that the combination of sensible prices and the ease of shopping at one store would be a recipe for success.

    In 1998 Kathy’s dream came true when the La Jolla store opened. The store was an instant winner with cooks in the area and within two years time another Kudler’s store opened in Del Mar location. In 2003 Encinitas was the location chosen to open another store and they are looking for another location to open another Kudler’s store.
    With the Point-of-Sale (POS) system that has been installed and is in use in all of the Kudler Fine Food store’s will make it very easy to keep track of the inventory used at each store. This way inventory used at each store can be monitored at one location. These systems will save the company money by having the sales and inventory systems combined and connected. By having the hardware and the computer software where it can combine the orders a greater discount can be had when ordering from suppliers. With installing the systems when the stores were built and upgrading the existing stores cash outlay is kept down to a minimum.
