High School and Old Cassette Recorder
My hobbies
Almost everybody has some kind of hobby. My hobbies are listening to music , watching television and reading books.
I am very fond of music. When I am free, I often listen to my favorite songs from an old cassette recorder.
At weekends, I usually go to music shops in the downtown areas to buy good CDs. Of the famous pop singers,
I prefer Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Madona and Paul MC Cartney.
I also spend an hour after dinner watching news and documentary programmes. I particularly enjoy the program "The World Here and There" because it broadens my knowledge of nature and human civilizations.
My favourite book is ‘’Treachery’’.
Its author is Elxan Elatli.
I think that my hobbies are very useful. They widen my knowledge, relax my mind, and make me feel better about myself.
My favorite hobby is playing drums.
I spend a lot of my free time playing drums. I started learning to play drums when I was 9 years old.
I played in my school’s band. When I was 12, I got a private drum teacher and started to really enjoy playing.
My parents bought me a drum set.

An important event in my life There are so many events happened in my life and most of them consist to be an important part of my life.
They are precious because I can learn much from them or sometimes they can make me feel better when I am sad. I think the event which influent me most is happened at my senior high school. When I was in my third grade of senior high school,
I should choose the university and the major which I want to go on my further study after the college entrance examination. After the score came out, I chose doctoring as my first major. But my parents disagreed that strongly. Because I never said that I wanted to do something in the future relative with the medical career before.
Both of them let me thought carefully because to be a doctor was very toilsome.
Also, doctors always shift their work and they should go to work at night

I started first on the bass drum, with me being on of the smallest members, I looked pretty comical. Although, I didn’t care, I was only gracious to be a part of such an amazing and talented group of individuals. Choir and singing then became a big aspect of my life and educational career as well; meeting new friends and peers along the way was one of my most cherished memories. I first started singing in middle school, and then continued into my high school years as well. I can honestly say that by joining band and choir, it has connected me with life long friends and has given me many forever cherished memories. They have both pushed me in ways that I couldn’t have pushed myself, taught me many valuable life lessons, gave me the gifts of perseverance and concentration, and have shaped me into the able woman I am today. Over the years I’ve taught others to love music just as much as I do by working with middle and elementary school children. I have also taught at the preschool program located in my high school, desiring to teach them how to push past the obstacles they can not prevent and redirecting their feelings into positivity and valuable…

My favorite activity is going to the beach looking for sea glass. I find it to be very relaxing, and always exciting to see the “gems” I find. I also enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. As I've grown older, I've realized that the family I have is getting older. So any time I spend with them making memories is meaningful to me. I also enjoy going to the gym to keep fit. I try to include sports and activities besides my full-time job, attending college, and homework in my daily life because I believe it is important to be a well-rounded…

I bought a drum set and watched YouTube videos to teach myself how to play. I joined the concert band in fifth grade and continued to take it as a class until sophomore year in high school. I also played in the jazz band for four years, the pep band for five years, and the show choir for two. The feeling I got in my stomach when I was up to bat in a baseball game was the same butterflies that I got when I played music with a group. The difference between baseball and playing the drums was that my hard work did not go unnoticed. Music is a universal language that brings people together, and nobody sits on the bench. Music was a healthy alternative for me because it taught me that everyone should be accepted and…

Like all the bright little colored boys and girls whom I knew when I was growing up in the 50's, I wanted to be a doctor. More accurately, my mother raised me to be a doctor. In a thousand ways, some subtle and some not so subtle, my mother implanted the idea that the sole calling worthy of the name was that of the physician.…

I had worked hard in school because of this desire to become a physician. But at a time I also became discouraged and worried about my future outlook. During my second semester of freshman year and going into sophomore year in college, I was still trying to figure out how to study properly and the troubles in physics and organic chemistry became a nightmare. On top of courses being difficult, I was also involved in a dance team, an active runner, and employed as an undergraduate peer advisor and TA, which became hard to balance. Sacrifices were made, which I came to realize is what a physician's job entails. I had never faced more of a…

At first I wanted to be a surgeon, then I wanted to be an oncologist, but as I time went on I realized I didn't want to do either. After doing my research on medical careers I realized that what I really wanted to do was become a physician assistant. That “passionate rock stream” also led my attention to musical instruments, especially those ones used in rock songs, so I started learning to play drum - no trainer, no musical institute, all by myself. I downloaded videos from Youtube and tried to imitate the drummers. I put cushions around me and pictured positions of hi-hat, snare, crashes…etc, then I hit them like I was playing in a performance! Although difficulties brought me…
