After browsing through several top companies, I found The Walt Disney Company to be very most diverse, yet a simple company to research. Their mission statement is "to make people happy." Founded in 1932, Walt Disney has strived to make this company name live up to its mission statement. They believe that in wholesome American values and are fanatical when it comes to consistency and detail, have no cynicisms, and preserve and control the Disney "magic". Founded on the concept of "producing unparalleled entertainment experiences," this company has grown into four major business segments. These segments are interconnected and operate together to gain exposure and growth throughout the world. This corporate conglomerate continues to grow both nationally and internationally through their segmented entertainment structure. The four major segments are studio entertainment, consumer products, media networks, and parks and resorts.

Studio entertainment holds many labels such as Walt Disney Pictures and Touchtone Picture to name a few. Such timeless classics as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella have made this company well known for its wholesome, family movies. Disney has many resorts and parks worldwide for families to relax and play such as Disney World and Disney Land. In this category falls their luxurious cruise ship called Disney Cruise Line. Consumer products range from apparel, toys, books, magazine, and even electronics. In most malls, their sits a Disney Store in which licensed clothing, toys, DVD's, and games can be purchased. Lastly, the media networks are comprised of radio, television, games, internet, and cable. This allows for their brand image and product name to reach a broader market. Such great television shows like Hannah Montana and That's So Raven are broadcast on their own cable network channel.
