Title: Oil Extracted from Kangkong (Ipomoea aquatica ) as an Alternative to Regular Cooking Oil Researcher: Eunice Jael B. Mariano
School: Benigno S. Aquino National High School

ABSTRACT
In our country, one of the major problems that we are facing is the continuous oil price hike. So, people try to find alternatives for this, in a way that it will not risk our health and it is cheaper. In this research study, we find alternatives for the regular cooking oil we are using today. The Kangkong leaves undergo different processes like blending, cooling, boiling and many others in order to extract the oil. As we all know, Kangkong has many uses and it is very nutritious. It is known as an anti- Diabetic food. It can also serve as medicinal plant. With these facts on hand, we were able to construct the research paper and come up with good results. The use of Kangkong as a source of cooking oil was a good idea which we can account on its benefits stated above and throughout the paper. The oil extracted from the Kangkong will then be used as an alternative for the cooking oil that we usually use today. The materials used in the research are easy to find. Kangkong grows practically everywhere and can be bought in the market at a very affordable price. The product or the oil extracted from kangkong showed a great potential to be an alternative for our regular cooking oil.
