Jump: Water and Thrashing Waves
Jump
The cold air hissed around me, whipping my hair across my face. The rain pelting down on my body, plastering my hair to my scalp and making my clothes stick to my body.

I took a shaky step closer to the edge. The lightening cut through the sky, illuminating the thrashing waves beneath me. Thunder boomed a few seconds later, making me blink rapidly.

I could feel the salty water spraying at me as the waves crashed against the cliffs edge. My heart was beating hard against my chest, making it hard to hear anything. All I could hear was the pulsing of blood behind my ears.

Why are you doing this? A voice in my head asked.

I shook my head violently, now I was hearing voices? I took a short step forward, my toes curling around the ledge.

Do it I told myself. Do it NOW.

I rolled back on my heels and pushed against the ground as hard as I could. I fell through the air, wind whooshing in my face, making my hair fly back.

My arms and legs spread wide as I prepared for the impact.

My body slammed against the waters surface, causing every inch of my skin to prickle in pain.

The water dragged my body deep into it's depths. I kept my lips sealed around my last breath, but as I was smashed against the rocks, it escaped.

I watched the air bubbles rise quickly to the surface. My lungs began to fill quickly with ocean water, the salt burning my throat.

My fingertips became numb, and the numbness gradually made it's way through my whole body. My chest became uncomfortable and tight as it longed for air.

A hard, blackness took over my mind, replaying the reason of why I jumped.

"He died in a car accident." One of the officers told me, solemnly.

I felt my whole world crashing down around me, how could he leave me?

He promised he would always be there for me, he said he would always love me. So, why did he leave?

Now as the blackness filled my whole body, I knew, I was going to be with him, forever; like he promised.

The water was still there, surrounding her, offering her the screams without sound. When she was in it, no one could hear her. But when I'm in there I can't breathe. Rosie stood, shaking. Her feet trembled as she drew closer, looking down into the water, seeing a poor reflection of herself in the clear waters. It's as scared as I am. Look...it's shaking. It's upset.…

I snapped up and burst out the door then jumped into the air, spread my wings and flew. A few people saw me but I didn’t care because no one would believe them. My wings were painful, all the flying I had done the day before was only then sinking in. I had to land and walk but I couldn’t, not out in the open. Then a forest appeared on the horizon and I thought it was the perfect place to conceal myself for that day. After landing I started to walk but my wings kept snagging on branches so I was forced to furl them up tightly; it was quite unpleasant but had to be done to keep them undamaged.…

The waves looked as if they were pushing against the shore, trying to keep everyone out, but sucking them in if they made it beyond the fingertips of the furiously waving ocean hands. The lifeguard sliced through the water with precision and grace. Where the water was shallow, he ran. Then he dove under the waves, and for a moment he was gone. His rescue buoy floated on the surface, but the lifeguard was still underwater. Then he emerged less than five yards away from the woman in…

I swiftly jumped from the landing craft into the sea. The scene on the beach was catastrophic. My lip was quivering from the cold. The distance to the beach slowly drew closer. My clothes were dripping with the blood red water. I felt hands pulling at my legs from underneath me. There was nothing I could do to help them. My heart was racing as I drew further towards the beach. As the water got shallower I felt a sense of relief as it was a struggle to walk, even though I knew the worst was yet to come. A huge wave carried me closer to the shore. The tangy taste of salt was lingering in my mouth. Gasping for breath, I reached the surface only to see the battle continuing. But this time closer. The sky was a depressing shade of grey. The smoke filled air occupied my lungs. Smoke covered the whole battle field. When I finally reached the beach I had a shear moment of panic. My legs went numb and it felt like I was going to faint at any moment.…

My family and I have always loved are camping trips, especially the ones the take us deep into the depths of the Sierra Nevada mountians. There's a very unique and beautiful camp ground near Mammoth Lakes called Devils Postpile. My is it beautiful, two gigantic crystal clear lakes, wildlife sites that could easily be posted in any National Geographic magazine, and trout that have enough meat on their bones to suvive in the deepest of any ocean. One little problem I always have had was that my father was a better and more experienced fisherman than I was resulting in that he would always catch the bigger and more beautiful fish and almost certainly come home with twice as many fish as I had caught. This was it, are summer vacation, finally it was time to get out of the intense heat and bordom of Ridgecrest.…

I then went and touched the floor with my whole body, but then I felt something heavy forcing me down. I tried to proceed up but I couldn’t move. It was a fat boy sitting on me in the water. I tried to get him off but I just couldn’t. I thought to myself, “How can I get him off?” I had to think fast. I was running out of breath and started to make air bubbles. I then started to swallow water and then I felt him came off and I race for the surface. I came out and took a huge breath. I screamed and cried as I came out of the water. It was a narrow escape. Only God could have saved…
