Judaism and Islam
Basic Christian Beliefs

Judaism and Islam are two of the world's oldest, and largest monotheistic religions. These religions share a variety of customs, beliefs, and even practices. But it is there difference in the belief of Jesus and his role in salvation that divides the two religions. Although neither of the religion agrees the Jesus was the Messiah they each have a very different view of his role and what is to come. Judaism is the oldest of all the Abrahamic religions. Its founding prophet is Moses, who had been chosen by God to lead the Israelite slaves out of Egypt. Camped under Mount Sinai, Moses gave the Israelite slaves the Torah of their God, and after wandering in the desert for 40 years, they went to live in what is now known as Israel, which they believe, is God's gift to them. Jews trace their Abrahamic lineage through his son, Isaac. In the Jews faith it is believed that God is the one True Creator. God has always existed, none existed before him and will exist forever. He transcends life and death. They also believe to there are two equal impulses, one good and one bad. People decide which one they follow. Human nature is in human hands. You must judge each person for innocence (Avos chap. 1).The difference in Islam and Judaism is most prevalent in regards to the Jews belief in Jesus. Jews do not believe that Jesus was divine, the Son of God, or the Messiah prophesied in Jewish scriptures. He is seen as a "false messiah," meaning someone who claimed the mantle of the Messiah but who ultimately did not meet the requirements laid out in Jewish beliefs. According to Jewish scripture and belief, the true Messiah must meet the following requirements. He must: Be an observant Jewish man descended from the house of King David, Be an ordinary human being (as opposed to the Son of God), Bring peace to the world, Gather all Jews back into Israel, Rebuild the ancient Temple in Jerusalem, Unite humanity in the worship of the Jewish...
