Above and Beyond Job Requirements
Ethical Implications are known as the morality being applied by something. I personally feel that there are ethical implications on jobs that do require long hours and extensive travel. Most of the time as the employee, we feel that we have to go above and beyond our jobs duties to please our bosses to keep our jobs. I totally feel that it is always a disadvantage for the employee who is working. In addition, a manager does have an obligation to separate their professional live from their private life.
I feel that the implications are ethical for a reason because, no business will every say that in order to keep your job you have to work long hours and travel a lot. However, when it comes to the employee we feel that if we do not do what was asked of us we would get in trouble and soon be fired. So to avoid any issues we work extremely hard and follow any implied ethical concept to keep our job.
It is now extremely hard to find a job since we are in a recession so there are millions of people who are willing to do whatever at any rate, just to be able to provide for their families and to keep that job. It is always known that if you want to get ahead and get a promotion you have to work harder than other and you just can’t just settle for the minimum. I was unemployed for five months and it was very depressing because I am independent I like to provide for myself. However, at that time I was job searching and I couldn’t find a job, so I made up my mind that the first job I get I am not going to lose it.
I ended up working at a Dry Cleaner and my boss pressured me to learn everything instantly and I learned it in two day and he had me open the store on my own the next day. I felt pressured by his implication that if I didn’t learn it in fours day he would not hire me so I knew that I had to work harder and stay longer to keep that job.
