Jesus or Mohammed?
The question of which was true and which was false is a fair debate considering that this two figures in history started the largest religions in the world today. Christianity consists of 2.1 billion followers with Islam right behind with 1.5 billion followers; with these kinds of numbers it is interesting to see that these two religions are very different and alike.
The life these men lived said everything about what they believed in especially when compared to what they preached. The lives of both men where altogether different in almost every aspect form their birth to their death. If either of these men preached something that was in error then they would be called a hypocrite. The major difference there is that Mohammed only proclaimed to be a prophet so that his errors could be covered and he still could do as his flesh wanted. In the case of Jesus he proclaimed to be the Son of God and God in the flesh, so he can not show any hypocrisy or he would be no better than any other liar or lunatic.
Mohammed was born c. 570 in Mecca (known as Saudi Arabia) and shortly thereafter was orphaned and raised by his uncle. Later he married a wealthy widow in Mecca where he led her caravan trade. He then started going into the mountains and staying in caves to be alone and meditate, it was there at age 40 he started to have visions and “revelations” from God. Mohammed is given the authorship of the Qur’an. So in theory he could have wrote whatever made him look and feel good for the sins he committed. He believed that the message that he was “given by God” was the only true message to the Arabs. He also believed that Jesus was a prophet to the Christians and Moses was a prophet to the Jews.
