Bend it like Beckham Summary 20.08.2013

Chapter 1
The story begins with a dream of Jesminder Bhamra. She is a big fan of David Beckham, so she dreams of him playing together in a team and scoring goals. Jess mother, who hates football, interrupts her and instructs her to go shopping with her sister Pinky, who is engaged and gets married soon. While Pinky is searching for her perfect sari for the wedding, she and Jess meet their cousins Monica, Bubbly and Meena. After chatting a bit they also face Tony, the best friend of Jess. Finally Pinky finds the dress she wants and they drive home, recognizing they forgot to do some errands for their mother. After Jess decides to do her moms shopping, she meets some friends in the park and they play football for a while. During the engagement party Jess decides. The chapter ends with the engagement party of Pinky. At first Jess thinks that it will be a horrible party, but the party is not that bad.
Chapter 2
While Jess plays soccer with her friends, her cousins Monika, Blubby and Meena arrive. They talk a bit about the guys, Jess is playing with. Then another girl arrives who invites Jess to play soccer in her team because the girl, Jules, thinks that Jess plays well. The guys are just laughing at Jess but she thinks this could be the chance she was always waiting for.
First training, Jess is really surprised that the girl’s team played on a real ground, but first she has to meet the coach Joe. They talk a bit about Jess best position and then Joe wants her to play and to take her boots on, but Jess has got any. That was no problem, she needs to warm up first and then they had a match. Jess does not score, but she makes a good job on the field and Joe is really content about her. After the match, during a talk with Joe, Jess finds out that it is Jules earnings that there is a girl’s team. Of cause Jess is allowed to join the team and later Jules confide to Jess that she wants to be a
