JEREMY LIN
Jeremy Lin is Chinese or Taiwanese and is 24 years old. Now playing for the Houston Rockets. He was known for Linsanity when he played for the New York Knicks and led a winning streak while being promoted to the starting lineup. Lin is one of the few Asian Americans in the NBA history. Lin was born in Los Angeles and was raised in a Christian family. His parents emigrated from Taiwan to the United States. In High school he was named first team All-State and Northern California Division 2 Player of the year. He ended his senior year averaging 15.1 points, 7.1 assists, 6.2 rebounds and 5.0 steals. Lin had a 4.2 gpa in high school, which fitted the Harvard’s standards. He joined Harvard and attended the basketball team. In his freshman season he was the weakest guy on the team. But when during his junior year he was the only NCAA Division 1 men’s basketball player who ranked in the top ten in his conference for scoring. Later on, He was chosen into the 2010 NBA Draft and no team chose him. Lin then played in five summer league games and outplayed the first overall pick John Wall. On July 21,2010, He signed a two year contract with the Golden State Warriors. He also signed a three year contract with Nike and his jersey was already on sale before is first NBA game. The New York Knicks claimed Lin off waivers to be a backup for Mike Bibby. Lin became the first NBA player to score at least 20 points and have seven assists in each of his first five starts. Linsanity 7-0 win streak until they loss to the New Orlean Hornets. Lin suffered a knee injury and at the end of the season he became a restricted free agent. During the offseason Lin seeked other offers he then signed with the Houston Rockets. Now he still plays for the Houston Rockets and averages 13 points, 5 assist, 3 rebounds per game of the 2012-2013 season. Jeremy Lin also has a Youtube account. He is a Christian and was a leader in Harvard’s Asian American Christian Fellowship.
