Situation One
I understand you are interested in purchasing Microsoft® Word. Let me just tell you some of what Microsoft® Word has to offer for school and work needs, maximizing its capabilities. First, although it may seem a little pricey, you are getting a series of Microsoft® Applications-besides Word to use. Depending on the suite chosen, depends on the applications included. The following applications are available Access, Communicator Excel, Groove, InfoPath, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Publisher, SharePoint Workspace, Visio, and of course Word.   For your needs, I would suggest the Home & Student Suite. This includes your basic needed for school applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. However, you can buy Word in a ‘standalone’ version but for $10.00 more, you have access to three other programs. Now if that is not a steal, I do not know what is!
Word is not only for creating text documents. In addition to being a word processor, Word functions as a simple limited type desktop publisher. Of course, it does not function as Adobe Photoshop does, but it is fine for creating documents such as flyers, calendars, brochures, as well as web sites and blogs. In addition, there is tons of downloadable content online, making your creating possibilities are endless! I would suggest ANY computer user to have at the minimum Word installed if not some other helpful Microsoft® software.
