We are pleased to submit a proposal for the Installation of Three Phase Induction Motor in the AC plant system. This proposal shows the benefit of using three phase motor. We hope that this report will merit your approval.
This report discusses the inadequacies of the present Ac plant system and the benefits of using Three Phase Motor. The problem in the Ac plant system came to light during a routine inspection. We noticed that insufficient airflow and wastes of too much electricity by current motor are the problems with the present system. The combination of these two problems creates both an unsafe and an inefficient system. To correct the problem, the present single-phase motor in the system must be removed and replaced with a new three-phase induction motor. This new motor will not only correct the problems of the present system but it will also produce the some extra benefits. We conclude that single phase motor in the ventilation system should be replace with a new three phase motor.
This report focuses on the installation of three phase induction motor to improve the performance of AC plant system.
The purpose of this report is to inform you of the inadequacies of the present AC plant system, and to inform you of the benefits of using three phase motor. In this report, we will first give you a quick summary of the proposal, followed by the necessary background information required. We will then discuss in detail the following:
* problems with the present system,
* a proposed solution to the problem,
* implementation of the new system,
* The rationale behind the decision.
1.2 Background information:
One must understand the difference between a single-phase and a three-phase motor. A single-phase motor runs on only one electrical phase, but requires additional starting circuitry. Three-phase motors, on the other hand, require all three electrical phases, but do not need any starting circuitry. The amount of airflow in a system is measured in cubic yards per hour.
The problem in the AC plant system came to light during a routine inspection. We noticed the following problems with the present system: 1. insufficient airflow
2. current motor wastes too much electricity
The combination of these two problems creates both an unsafe and an inefficient system. Fortunately, the solution is quite simple and inexpensive. To correct the problem, the present single-phase motor in the system must be removed and replaced with a new three-phase induction motor. This new motor will not only correct the problems of the present system, it will also produce the following benefits:
1. longer life
2. decreased power factor
4. minimal downtime at installation
2.1 Problems with the present system:
The main problem with the present AC Plant system is that it is unable to produce enough airflow. After closer examination of the AC Plant system, we noticed that the only thing wrong with the system is the motor driving the fan. The motor is old and worn out and therefore unable to produce the necessary airflow.
The other problem with the present system is its abnormally high power consumption. We noticed this abnormally high power consumption while taking measurements on the present motor with a digital electronic meter. With these measurements, we calculated that the motor is running at only...
