Is Wind Power Green?
Humanity is approaching almost 9 billion inhabitants on planet Earth, and we are struggling to find ways to live better lives and be happier; and at the same time, some are struggling to try to keep a balance between getting what we need and want for our everyday lives while trying decelerate our way downward of our history on this planet by trying to stop or even reverse Global Warming and the depletion of natural resources including the ways we produce the energy that we need every day. Some sources of this energy, especially since the discovery of the fossil fuels have expanded our horizon as humanity greatly, or we thought so, until we discovered that our actions have been damaging the environment so greatly that we need to do some corrective actions. In the later years, new technologies have emerged in an effort to try to help us pull away from dependence on fossil fuel as sources of energy into a more environmentally friendly future where we can still enjoy the benefits of having energy. Wind powered electricity is one of them, while some argue that it is the perfect match for our present and future needs since depends on wind to generate electricity, which does not burn any form of fossil fuel and has no carbon emissions to the environment while still providing us with the same quality of electric power; others argue that there is also a dark side for the environment due that thousands of birds all around the globe die every year as a victim of the wind turbines blades when in full motion. There are some other concerns such as pollution by noise; cost and some even argue that landscapes lose their beauty due to these huge wind turbines.
Our human lifestyle needs energy to survive in this planet no matter what; the difference is where we get that energy from and the consequences for the environment that this represents. While “dirty” sources of energy such as fossil fuels have been our supply... [continues]
