Characters:

Beauregard “Bo” Brewster- The narrator. Writes in a diary that is addressed to Larry King. His parents are divorced and he has a bad relationship with his father. He turns his anger towards his father (Lucas) into motivation for training. He is training for the Yukon Jack Ironman Triathlon.

Noboru Nakatani- A shop teacher that runs the school’s anger management group. He is described as an “Asian Cowboy”. He is from Texas and killed his 2 children in a drunk driving incident.

Elvis, Shuja, Hudgie- Three kids in “The Nak Pack.”
Elvis: Tough, bully
Shuja: Tough (made fun of for being black).
Hudgie: Mentally unstable

Lionel “Lion” Serbousek- Bo’s Journalism teacher and swim coach. He is a homosexual and lost his father at a young age.

Shelly- Bo’s girlfriend. Also in “The Nak Pack.” Wants to be an American Gladiator. She joined Anger Management because she wanted to.

Keith Redmond- Bo’s old football coach and English teacher. He dislikes Bo for quitting football. Bo calls him an asshole and is sent to anger management.

Ian Wyrack- A college swimmer that competes against Bo in the triathlon. Shelly bet him $500 that Bo would beat him and he did.

Ellen Brewster- Bo’s mom

Setting: takes place in Clark Fork, Washington. Bo lives with his mother and younger brother, Jordan. Lucas Brewster owns a sporting goods store.

Character Development:

Bo: Learns to control his anger and tries to resolve problems with dad. He is able to admit that he wants to.

Elvis: Realizes that he is becoming more like his father and tries to be nicer to siblings.

Lucas Brewster: Realizes that he may be wrong in trying to control Bo’s life. Goes to therapist with Bo.

Mr. Nak- Goes back to Texas to deal with the deaths of his children. He wont hide from the past.

Shelly- Becomes more open.
