This study entitled “Banana (Musa acuminata) peel and gumamela (Hibiscus rosa sinensis) as shoe polish.
Gumamela petals and banana peel were boiled to produce the extract and kerosene,petroleum, and fine charcoal were added.
The product was tested to a pair of shoes and found out that commercial shoe polish and gumamela petals and banana peel shoe polish have the same result.
Based on the study on the study conducted, it is possible to produce a shoe polish for shoes from gumamela petals and banana peel extract.The shoe polish is effective in polishing shoes.This shoe polish is easy to prepare and has a natural ingredient.
A. Background of the Study
Commercial shoe polish are very expensive today.Many people who can’t afford this commercial shoe polish find it hard to come up with an affordable shoe polish.But the researchers,strive hard to come up with the idea of producing a shoe polish in polishing shoes.
B. Statement of the Problem
This research work was conducted to produce a shoe polish from gumamela petals and banana peel.
Specifically, the study aimed to answer the following questions:
1.Is it possible to produce a shoe polish from gumamela petals and banana peel?
2. Is this product effective?
C. Scope and Delimitation
The study was limited to the use of gumamela petals and banana peels as an ingredient of the shoe polish.
The gumamela petals and banana peel were collected and prepared for the experiment which was conducted at the home of one of the researchers. Research and reading were done to collect ideas. The shoe polish was then tested to a pair of shoes to test the effectiveness of the finished product.
D. Significance of the study
The production of this shoe polish is important to individuals. This will also lesse the cost of using commercial shoe polish.
