1.1Background of the Problem
An inventory system is basically a process whereby a business keeps track of the goods and material it has available. In its simplest sense it can be done manually by a count at the end of each day. In this way it is possible to keep a record of the goods coming in to the business and goods being sold. However this is only really appropriate for small businesses that do not have a lot of stock. For larger business it is more likely that a computerized system will be required. Point of sale software gives business owners a convenient way of checking out customers and of recording sales. It can keep a record of the store inventory, updating it when an order is processed. It can also print out receipts; track customers. Almost all business firms, schools and other institutions, computers have significant impact in their works. People rely on computer for efficient and effective way to handle different loads and task most especially for business who are working with sales, inventorying as well as accounting. The payment and inventory in this company has relied on their pens and papers. As time goes by, problems such as missing products, delayed payments process and false stock information has arise. Furthermore some could not be able to handle the massive entering of stocks. Under their manual system, it takes a lot of time to process. Based to this problem, we, the software developers proposed the Heramil Maternity and Clinic Pharmacy Point of Sale and Inventory System. The system is developed specially to meet the needs of this company.
