Introduction to the Information System and Information Technology Used by DiGi Telecommunications Sdn. Bhd

The second information system used by this company is Transaction Processing System( TPS). This information system is designed to process routine transaction efficiently and accurately. TPS collect, store, modify, and retrieve the transactions of an organization. The essence of a transaction program is that it manages data that must be left in a consistent state. The success of company depends on the reliable processing of transactions to ensure that customer orders are met on time, and that partners and suppliers are paid and can make payment. Transaction processing systems offer company the means to rapidly process transactions to ensure the smooth flow of data and the progression of processes throughout the company. DiGi uses the E-payment and E-Reload during the year 1999 and the system has been developed into more advance and convenient . (Online Credit Card Payment System , Electronic Cash System and Smart Card based Electronic Payment System ) All the services are provided in every DiGi kiosk or DiGi Centre. Online Credit Card System- If customers want to make a payment for the postpaid plan / reload credit for the prepaid , they can simply send their credit card details to the service provider involved and the credit card organization will handle this payment like any other. They can even go to the machine and make a credit card payment by just a slash with the credit card. All the relevant details will be recorded by the machine and send to the DiGi within a minute or a few seconds. The credit card organization will handle the payment. The payment machine can be used to make a cash payment, debit card payment and by using ( SMART CARD ) . All the payment details will be send to the service provider and the related organizations for recording through online. SMART CARD can provides identification, authentication, data storage and application
