# Introduction of Trigonometry

Topics: Trigonometry, Problem solving, Trigonometric functions Pages: 5 (887 words) Published: March 8, 2013
Intro:
Trigonometry is a branch of mathematics that studies triangles and the relationships between their sides and the angles between these sides. The field evolved during the third century BC as a branch of geometry used extensively for astronomical studies. It is also the foundation of the practical art of surveying.

Trigonometry basics are often taught in school either as a separate course or as part of a precalculus course. Fields that use trigonometry or trigonometric functions include Biology, Pharmacy, Chemistry, many Physical Sciences (Physics, Mechanics and Astronomy could have been developed without Trigonometry), Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Analysis on Financial Markets and electronics.

In this project you'll find out on how Angle of Depression and Angle of Elevation are measured. You'll get some ideas about Sum and Difference Identities.
I hope this could be a good reference of those topic mention and my their eyes be fed with satisfaction with the information.

Acknowledgement
In my field, IT (Information Technology) internet is a great source of reference in my homeworks, researches and projects; it helped me accomplish this project with the help of technology my works are more representable to read and more efficient-looking. I may want to recognized my Inspiration, in giving me some ideas and putting up the datas together to make this project well-done.

Steps in solving "word" problem:
1. Read the problem all the way through.
2. Read it again, drawing a picture of whatever you can.
3. Label the picture with all that is given.
4. Write down any givens not already in the picture.
5. Write down what you want to find out (the unknown).
6. Use any formulas in this lesson to write the unkown in terms of what is given. 7. Solve for the unknown using algebra.

This tips may help in solving "word" problems easier and not look like complicated. As long as you know what to do, you'll get the right answer. Table of Contents:

Martyrdom, sir, is what these people like; it is the only way in which a man can become famous without ability.

Angle of Depression
The word “depression” means “fall” or “drop”
Angle of depression is the angle between a horizontal line and the line joining the observer's eye to some object beneath the horizontal line.
Angle of Elevation
The word "Elevatetion" means "lift up"
Angle of elevation of an object as seen by an observer is the angle between the horizontal and the line from the object to the observer's eye (the line of sight).

Identities
The derivation and simplification of expressions involving trigonometric function. There are fundamental Identities and which is divided into 3 groups namely: Reciprocal Identities,...
