III. SUPERVISOR’S REMARKS
IV. OVERVIEW OF HUI
V. THE INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
English is the most important and popular language in the world. We can not deny the fact that English is used in many fields of life such as diplomacy, business, science, technology, banking, computing, medicine, ect. So far, English is spoken by more people than any other language, and is the native language of more than 350 million people. More people speak English than those who speak the Arabic and French languages combined. As the result, English is the language for international communication.
In Vietnam, students have to study English when they enter the secondary school. In addition, theycan not refuse studying this subject when they go into any college or university. Some students may dislike English or the methods English is being taught to them. However, English still plays an important role in human being life today. English is the required key for success in our jobs in the future, especially after Vietnam joined in the WTO in 2007. That has opened the door of Vietnam to the world and has given us the chance to develop in many aspects, particularly in business. Recently, many English centers have been established to fulfill the need of studying English among young people, even working people.
I myself chose English as my major when I joined in HUI because of both my interest in studying this language and its importance in my future life. During my period of studying at this university, I have learnt a lot of important things in studying and teaching English from many devoted lecturers. Fortunately, I also had an opportunity to gain much experience in the internship by observing and teaching in some Basic English classes. Thanks to the enthusiasm of all instructors, I have finished my internship smoothly. Therefore, this internship report reflects all things I have done in HUI.
I want to express my special thanks to all professors for helping me finish this internship.
Firstly, my thanks goes to Ms. Lê Ngọc Diệp, my supervisor, for helping me with lots of useful advice in preparing lesson plans, teaching methods and instructing me to finish this internship report.
I would like to thank Mr. Nguyễn Trường Sa, who taught me many useful techniques in English teaching methods and the one who always follows me in each typical step during my probation.
I am grateful to Ms. Lê Minh Hiền, Ms. Vũ Thúy Nhiễu, Ms. Lê Thị Thúy, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Nam, and Mr. Đào Vĩnh Hiên for accepting me to join their Basic English classes. When I observed these classes, I have learnt much important experience which will help me in learning and teaching English in the future. Without these permissions, I would have lost numerous essential skills in controlling and managing the large and multi-level classes in real condition.
I want to specially thank Mr. Nguyễn Văn Nam, Mr. Huỳnh Thanh Bình, and Ms. Lê Thị Thúy for giving me an opportunity in real English teaching practice in their classes. After three periods of real teaching, I feel more confident and I hope that my teaching skills have been improved for my future career.
Next, I want to thank the Rector of HUI and the Deans of Faculty of Foreign Languages for making best conditions for me to complete this internship, and all the lecturers who have taught me in HUI.
Lastly, I want to give my special thanks for my entire group for helping and cooperating with me during my internship.
