International Students Are in the U.S.
With the reform of Chinese government’s the policies, China has opened the door to the other countries, so it promoted the communication with other countries. As a result, more people leave China to go abroad. Among those people, most of them will choose to study in the U.S. because it has the top education system in the world. Therefore, there are more international students from China who study in the U.S. than from other countries. However, the main reasons why International students from China are separated from mainstream society are because they have to conquer financial problems, language problems, cultural conflicts and adjusting to the education system.
First of all, the most important problem for international students is the financial problems because if international students do not have enough money, then they will not be able to finish their studies in the U.S. Furthermore, since the economy is becoming worse and worse in the U.S., it needs more international students to improve its bad economic situation because the costs for international students will be more expensive than for local students. For example, according to one article from US Fed News Service, Including US State News, “Foreign students and their dependents brought approximately $17.6 billion to the United States to support their education during the 2008-2009 academic years. In Virginia, the foreign students contribute almost $338 million to the local economy. There were 1,663 international students who enrolled in Northern Virginia Community College, and they contributed $38.2 million to the local economy. There were 2,158 international students to enroll in George Mason University, and they added $48.1 million to the local economy.
