The Top Four Emerging Markets for International Student Recruitment, identified Vietnam as one of four emerging markets for international student recruitment, along with Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. Education Agents Research Presentation: http://www.slideshare.net/ICEFmonitor/languages-canada-2012working-with-agents Brazil: There are 4,201 Brazilian students in USA Undergraduate, 3,019 Brazilian students in the U.S. in Graduate Programs, Brazil is the country that sends the most students to the U.S. in South America, total number of Brazilian students in the U.S. is 8767, Business & Management is the main area of study of Brazilians in the U.S, California is the most popular destination for Brazilian students, the U.S. is the most popular destination for Brazilians who want to study abroad, the number of American students in Brazil increased by 7.1%, there is a great incentive for exchanges between American and Brazilian universities, international students contribute with $7.6 billion to the American economy. There was an increase of 15.7% of Brazilian students that come study in the United States. There are 47.9% of Brazilian students in graduation programs, 34.4% of students doing Master and PhD and 15.7% of students in other higher education programs. As you know we have about 6/7 students from Brazil. So, it´s clear that even we would got 100 students from the 8767 it would still almost nothing. Brazilian students studying abroad continues to skyrocket through the Science Without Borders program. With 6,700 Brazilians currently studying abroad as part of the program, there are 12,000 recipients set to begin their undergraduate sandwich programs in September at universities The Science Without Borders program, jointly funded by the Brazilian government and the private sector, will consist of awarding 101,000 scholarships until 2015 for Brazilian students to study abroad at qualified universities of their choice. Vietnam: http://monitor.icef.com/2013/04/why-vietnam-a-market-snapshot/ Growing ability to afford an education overseas, there were 106,104 young Vietnamese studying in 49 countries and territories in 2012, according to the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training (MoET). The top five study destination countries in 2012 were: Australia; US; China; Singapore; UK. In the US, Vietnam ranks… 8th among all sending countries (IIE/Open Doors, 2012 and SEVIS/DHS); 5th in international undergraduate enrolment (IIE/Open Doors, 2012); 3rd in international enrolment at US community colleges (IIE/Open Doors, 2012). Vietnam is primarily an undergraduate market with nearly three-quarters of international students enrolled in associate and bachelor degree programmes. Another 17% are in graduate programmes, a percentage that has been decreasing in recent years. Finally, 5.5% fall into the “Other” category (e.g., intensive English programmes), while 5.2% are involved in Optional Practical Training (OPT).
