-I live in Hervey Bay QLD Australia, the weather is very hot today and there is not a lot of buildings. It is in a tropical climate zone. I live near the ocean, close to fraiser coast which is just north of Brisbane. Fraiser coast is on the edge of Fraiser island which is a physical system in Hervey Bay. The large amount of hotels is an example of human system because it allows out city to be recognized as a tourist area.
2. Convince someone to move to a U.S. city of your choice, by describing the location using terms from the lesson. Be sure to include the name of the city and state you are writing about and make your response at least one paragraph in length.
-If you are thinking of moving to America you should try going to New York city. It is a great place due to its variety in weather and recreational activities. It’s famous due to it’s location on the Atlantic coast of the northeastern United States at the southernmost edge of the state of New York, consisting of five boroughs: The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island. It is region filled with a variety of cultures so you will fit in no matter what. This city contains intriguing physical and human systems that are sure to keep things interesting. If you like the chaotic type of environment then NYC is the area for you!

Lewis and Clark started out in St. Charles, Missouri on the Missouri River trying to find an all water route to the Pacific Ocean. Next, Lewis and Clark made their way to Fort Mandan, where they stayed during their second winter. This is also where they met Sacagawea. After they left Fort Mandon, they made their way to Fort Clatsop, which is where they made salt. Lewis and Clark thought that their original route took too long and took them too far south, so they tried something different. Lewis followed the original route while Clark followed the Yellowstone River to Fort Mandan, where they met each other and traveled back to St. Louis. Lewis and Clark arrived back in St. Louis on September 23, 1806. Along the way, though, there were a couple interesting things that happened on the trip. The Transcontinental Railroad was a significant event in American History. This railroad was the work of two railroad companies, the Union Pacific and the Central Pacific, which built their lines as fast as they could until they met in Utah in 1869. Once this complex building project was completed, the United States was now connected from coast to coast by railroad tracks and led to an era of westward expansion. What few people realize is that this turning point in American history could not have happened if it were not for the immigrant groups who helped to build this remarkable railroad. Irish immigrants mainly built the Union Pacific and Chinese immigrants mainly built the Central Pacific. Before the transcontinental railroad was completed, travel overland by carriage cost about one thousand dollars and took five or six months. It also involved crossing Rocky Mountains and dry desert. Work on the first transcontinental railroad began after President Abraham Lincoln approved the Pacific Railway Act of 1862. This was a landmark law that approved the federal government to financially back the construction of a transcontinental railroad. Due to the American Civil War however the work was delayed for several years. Finally around 1866 the building of the railroad had started. It was a race between the Union Pacific and Central Pacific. The transcontinental railroad was finished on May 10th 1869, at Promontory Point, Utah. This was a turning point in American History because it greatly affected the opening of the West. This linked the East and West coasts by rail, and allowed for the West to be rapidly settled by Americans seeking opportunity and a new life in a new place. It connected the coasts from "sea to shinning sea," and had a significant impact on travel and the transportation of goods and people. In 1852, there was only five miles of track west of Mississippi.
