Prewriting for reader response on inside out

I was almost overwhelmed by fear when my friends car slammed into the car in front of us on the freeway. It was the year 2008 and my friends and i where driving to Oceanside from San diego to go to an concert. It was my friends Candice, Karis, Moline, and Kayla. Kayla was driving with candice in the front seat, Candice was three months pregnant. The rest of us was sitting in the back seat, I was sitting in the middle of Moline and Karis. I had a bad feeling that we wouldn't make it to the concert.The Interstate 5 freeway was pack, bumper to bumper traffic. We were already near Mission Avenue, and the car in front of the car in front of us jammed their brakes which made the car in front of us take the only safe spot on the freeway, in front of us. Kayla had no time to respond and instantly her car plunged into the car in front of us which was an Electric blue PT Cruiser, which pushed that car into another car. The car started smoking profusely. I thought the car was going to blow up so I yelled “ Get out of the car it’s gonna blow up!!” At this point I was the most afraid because i was in the middle of karis and Moline, and they were taking forever to get out. After the girls got out of the car everyone began to panic. I thought to myself, Why is everyone panicking? I noticed Candice crying and yelling, its not moving , she was talking about her baby i also noticed some one was missing. Moline , the foreign exchange student was passed out in the car, I ran to the car and tried to wake her up, she was a lot heavier than me. I finally accomplished getting her to some what stand up so i could guide her away from the car. As I helped her out of the car she started to fall at that point i didn't know what to do so i tried to keep her conscious till the paramedics got there. I began to get frustrated because the clean up crew got the the site of the accident

    Has anyone ever felt like you were judged by the way you look and dress? The outsiders by S.E Hinton should be taught in school. This book should be taught in school because it is very much like real life today so it could teach kids what not to do. The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is a story about a boy named Ponyboy and his friends who are constantly getting in trouble and being judged for being “greasers”. Ponyboy is an interesting character because he is different from his friends, but gets caught up in gang conflicts. There are many examples in The Outsiders showing Ponyboy to be loyal, brave and sensitive. The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton was written in 1967. This novel tells the story of the conflict between two different social groups, the greasers and the socs. The socs were the socials who lived in the rich part of town, and the greasers were the lower class youths. They call them Greasers because they wear their hair long and a lot of grease in it. They are always getting picked up by the police for shoplifting, hijacking cars, pity theft, armed robbery and even MURDER!! They are always getting in trouble for something the Socs did like when Pony boy was at school. The Socs were doing something in the cafeteria and Pony boy got in trouble for doing it and he wasn’t even in the cafeteria. The Socs are a bunch of rich kids that have mustangs and corvettes with nice interior. This novel tackles issues such as violence, class conflict, and prejudice. The novel takes place in the early sixties. The Outsiders examines how two different groups compete, and unite for survival, which is often justified with violence. This one isn’t getting lost in the woods and having to make fire and kill fish and get water out of some spring. This is more like real life because things like this happen every day.…

    The Outsiders had two poems in them, "Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost, the other poem, "Stay Gold" by Stevie Wonder. Nothing Gold Can Stay has a connection to the movie. I think it belongs in the movie. In this poem when they talk about "Natures first green is gold," it means natures first green is your youth, because, when you go to a new place it is gold, something good happening. When Johnny and Ponyboy killed the Soc they ran away to Windrixville, it was gold meaning it was a great place to be. "Her hardest hue to hold," means that your youth, which is represented by the word hue in this line, is hard to keep, which is represented by the word hold in this line, because you keep growing. Ponyboy and Johnny were 14 and 16 when they ran away to Windrixville and they are kids, however when they are staying by themselves that have to act like adults even though they are kids. "Her early leafs a flower," means that in your youth you are innocent. When Johnny killed the Soc he was innocent because he only did it on self defense. "But only so an hour," means that a young child matures from the young childhood to middle childhood where you start to know the difference between right and wrong.…
