It is important to be information literate because in the world we live in we are bombarded with information daily especially online and it is important to know how to process this information and also how to find more sources if necessary. In our everyday lives we need to be able to find, analyze, and apply information such as shopping prices and reviews or even facts about health problems.
What is the difference between computer, library and information literacy?
Computer literacy is simply the knowledge of how to use computers and related technology. Library literacy is knowledge of how to use the collections that you will find in a library. Information literacy is a broader subject and is the knowledge of how to find and use information particularly information found online.
How do you find information about a source in order to cite it properly?
Generally you can find all the information you need to cite a source properly in the about page. The page usually contains the author’s name, URL of the page, when was the article or page posted, and the date it was last updated. The name of the article should be found on the actual article page.

Plagiarism is the act of passing off someone elses work as your own.
