Current trends in the industry
We will identify the current sustainability and predict the likely importance in the future for the information and communication technology sector by using different examples from companies within these industries to conclude.
One of the most familiar and well known examples for the information industry is the media which is all around is day and night (Newspapers and news on television). In the United States there are about 40 national newspapers which are not only read in the States but also abroad. For example the Wall street Journal is also read in a lot of European countries.
From the mobile and internet communications industry we can also get examples which are sustainable and unthinkable in our daily lives. Already we can see that users of internet in the Netherlands have been growing tremendously:

This figure is showing the growth of internet users between 2000 and 2005, which has grown from 4 to almost 10 million users. And with the new and modern technology the number of internet users is growing and will grow even more (which we will discuss on later).
Also, the Mobile communication industry has also been growing rapidly all over the world. Even in third world countries people can afford to have mobile phones. According to the British magazine “the Economist “, the mobile phone stimulates economies in third world countries

According to the economist, people in third world countries are able to buy the phones because of the price which is being decreasing, and also because of the possibility to buy prepaid cards.
